Over the past few weeks, I’ve been visiting with Americans across the country to talk about what we need to do to secure a better bargain for the middle class.  We need to rebuild an economy that rewards hard work and responsibility; an economy built firmly on the cornerstones of middle-class life.  Good jobs.  A good education.  A home of your own.  A secure retirement.  And quality, affordable health care that’s there when you need it.  Right now, we’re well on our way to fully implementing the Affordable Care Act.  And in the next few months, we’ll reach a couple milestones with real meaning for millions of Americans.  If you’re one of the 85% of Americans who already have insurance, you’ve already got new benefits and protections under this law that you didn’t before.  Free checkups, mammograms, and contraceptive care.  Discounted prescription medicine on Medicare.  The fact you can stay on your parents’ plan until you turn 26.  And much, much more.  And it’s okay if you’re not a fan of the Affordable Care Act – you can take advantage of these things anyway.  If you don’t have insurance, beginning on October 1st, private plans will actually compete for your business.  You can comparison shop in an online marketplace, just like you would for cell phone plans or plane tickets.  You may be eligible for new tax credits to help you afford the plan that’s right for you.  And if you’re in the up to half of all Americans who’ve been sick or have a preexisting condition, this law means that beginning January 1st, insurance companies have to cover you – and they can’t use your medical history to charge you more than anybody else.

**What I’m not telling you:   I’ve been traveling around the country primarily to get out of barackINGHAM PALACE!  We both know that I’ve been a dismal failure as the country’s chief executive.  My cabal has been a clear illustration of the “lipstick on a pig” syndrome, I’m still the same ol’ pig!  This ACA (obamaKare) thingie has been a dismal failure right from the get-go; first having never been read in it’s entirety by those with the responsibility to act in YOUR BEST INTERESTS.  Secondly, a clear indication the law would do nothing positive for the country’s citizens and/or taxpayers was that the bill was voted on late at night; as Nancy PORKlosi said, “We have to pass it to see what’s in it.”   As we obamacRATics are wont to do, we’ve read all manner of “rights” into that evil US Constitution, like ‘the right to’ government housing, ‘the right to’ a retirement check and through ACA, several hundred additional ‘rights!’  Socialism–and to narrow it a bit–socialized medicine has failed every time, everywhere they’ve been tried.  If this concept were the best on the planet, Russia, China, North Korea, Viet Nam, all would have the happiest citizens working in burgeoning economies.  If socialized medicine actually worked for the benefit of the public, why–previous to ACA–did Canadians cross into the United States for their major surgeries?!?  Was it just to make the American surgeons and hospitals wealthier?  No, absolutely not!  Previous to ACA, the United States was–on average–the only place on the planet for the highest-quality healthcare at affordable prices.  “…private plans will actually compete for your business.”  That statement is clearly nothing if not just more of my bovine fecal matter–BULLSHIT, for you ‘low-information voters!!  Everyone ….EVERYONE…. outside the ruling cabal will be FORCED to participate in the ACA, no exceptions…. well other than those of the ruling class!

You can find out more about the law, and how to sign up to buy your own coverage right now at HealthCare.gov.  Tell your friends and neighbors without insurance about it, too.  And tell your kids that there’s a new, easy way to buy affordable plans specifically tailored to young people.  Many Members of Congress, in both parties, are working hard to inform their constituents about these benefits, protections, and affordable plans.  But there’s also a group of Republicans in Congress working hard to confuse people, and making empty promises that they’ll either shut down the health care law, or, if they don’t get their way, they’ll shut down the government.  Think about that.  They’re actually having a debate between hurting Americans who will no longer be denied affordable care just because they’ve been sick – and harming the economy and millions of Americans in the process.  And many Republicans are more concerned with how badly this debate will hurt them politically than they are with how badly it’ll hurt the country.

**What I’m not telling you:  A solid 62% of Americans favor the repeal or the unfunding of ACA!  That statistic is diametrically opposed to the blusterful blather I’ve spewed forth almost since ACA’s passage in the middle-of-the-night.  If I were to be honest–and that is a rare occurrence–a federal government shutdown is A GOOD THING!  The less that happens in the District of Corruption, the better for the American People.  This feared government shutdown will only happen if the obamacRATics force it; the republicRATics want little more than the aforementioned unfunding.

A lot of Republicans seem to believe that if they can gum up the works and make this law fail, they’ll somehow be sticking it to me.  But they’d just be sticking it to you.  Some even say that if you call their office with questions about the law, they’ll refuse to help.  Call me old-fashioned – but that’s lousy constituent service.  And it’s not what you deserve.  Your health insurance isn’t something to play politics with.  Our economy isn’t something to play politics with.  This isn’t a game.  This is about the economic security of millions of families.  See, in the states where governors and legislatures and insurers are working together to implement this law properly – states like California, New York, Colorado and Maryland – competition and consumer choice are actually making insurance affordable.  So I’m going to keep doing everything in my power to make sure this law works as it’s supposed to.  Because in the United States of America, health insurance isn’t a privilege – it is your right.  And we’re going to keep it that way.

**What I’m not telling you:   I fully realize that “gumming-up-the-works” has little to do with ‘sticking-it-to-me.’  I–the maniacal egotist that I am–have to make everything ABOUT ME!!  This “gumming-up” will not harm me, my family, our MONTHLY vacations, our annual $100++Million vacations to the home continent; no harm at all!  Your health insurance has been ALL ABOUT POLITICS practically since I came to barackINGHAM PALACE to be crowned; I–your exalted ruler–made it such!  Your senators and representatives–if they truly had your best interests at heart–would work ‘hand-in-glove’ with the likes of Senator Ted Cruz to finally remove ACA “from the books.”  The states that have worked on implementation have done so with immense federal ‘bribes,’ with little thought to the damage they’re perpetuating upon the economy, on healthcare insurance and individual healthcare, itself!  Acting much like Der Fuhrer, Adolf Hitler himself, I just arbitrarily decide which parts of ACA will be enforced, which parts will not.  All my decisions regarding ACA are monumental evidence of the law’s unworkability!!  The last two sentences of my blusterful blather indicate my hatred of the country’s constitution.  Nowhere in the aforementioned document is there mention of a right to health insurance; a right to an obamafone; or any of the multitude of ‘rights’ my leftist socio-fascists continually attempt to add to the annotated rights of the citizen.  These ‘additions’ are for the benefit of the millions of welfareRATs as well as the millions of ‘low-information’ voters.  Enough of my BULLSHIT, go and have a great, productive, relaxing weekend.  I know I will–at your expense–at a Martha’s Vineyard palatial estate!
