Springfield, MO Gun Show Reports Record Numbers After Obama Announces Executive Actions on Gun Ownership

by ‘Bungalow Bill,’

January 20, 2013

Barack Obama is a helluva gun salesman. Less than a week after Obama announced his plans to control guns in the United States, gun sales are clearly up.  Yesterday’s gun show at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds attracted over 10,000 people. That means over 6% of Springfield’s population gathered at the Expo center yesterday after Obama announced his attempts at gun control. The Springfield [….]

Americans: Never Give Up Your Guns

by Stanislav Mishin,

December 28, 2012

These days, there are few things to admire about the socialist, bankrupt and culturally degenerating USA, but at least so far, one thing remains: the right to bear arms and use deadly force to defend one’s self and possessions.

This will probably come as a total shock to most of my Western readers, but at one point, Russia was one of the most heavily armed societies on earth. This was, of course, when we were free under the Tsar. Weapons, from swords and spears to pistols, rifles and shotguns were everywhere, common items. People carried them concealed, they carried them holstered. Fighting knives were a prominent part of many traditional attires and those little tubes criss crossing on the costumes of Cossacks and various Caucasian peoples? Well those are bullet holders for rifles.

Ed Shultz Makes Bold Claim–We Prove Him Wrong

by Jason Howerton,

January 11, 2013

MSNBC personality and radio host Ed Schultz on Thursday made the bold claim that the U.S. has “never had a civilian stop a shooting” while arguing against having armed personnel in schools.

During his radio show, Schultz said a gunman might even view it as a “challenge” if there were armed employees at school. Here’s what he said:

“Would it be a deterrent if, you know, say perpetrators know that there’s guns in the schools? How do we know they wouldn’t view that as a challenge? I mean, we got a goofy world out there. I’m just not convinced that packing a small firearm is the best defense or certainly not the best defense.

You know, you want to make the best defense? Make the school a damn fortress. I mean, you could do that, I mean but, is that reasonable? Is that the right thing to do? Is it necessary? […] haven’t we had enough school shootings where this is necessary? We’ve never had a civilian stop a shooting.”

His claim is easily debunked. In fact, TheBlaze has reported extensively on [….]

And Will a Jesse James or Billy the Kid Elementary School Follow?

by Victor Davis Hanson,

January 9, 2013

California public schools for some time in many surveys of national testing have ranked 48th or 49th in the nation in math and science, and, inter alia, are part of the various impediments to robust economic growth in California. No matter — California school boards have better things to worry about. Here is an item on the recent efforts in Salinas to name a new elementary school after an obscure 19th-century convicted bandit who was hanged for murder: [….]

People Rush to Download Online Blueprints for 3D Printed Guns

by Liz Klimas,

January 9, 2013

In December, a digital design sharing forum called Thingiverse, which is maintained by the manufacturer of the 3D printer Makerbot, removed all firearm-related designs. But some of these designs are not lost — they’ve simply moved to another website, which now reports seeing heavy traffic from around the world.

The digital blueprints for gun components to be made on 3D printers were collected and posted on a site maintained by Defense Distributed, the organization spearheading the Wiki-Weapons project that is creating a fully functional 3D printed gun and is posting designs for it [….]

Blistering ‘Fact-Check’ of Piers Morgan’s Anti-Gun Claims

by Billy Hallowell,

January 9, 2013

The gun control debate is often highly-emotional, with both sides throwing out statistics in an effort to sway Americans to either side of the aisle. Since the Sandy Hook shooting last month, CNN’s Piers Morgan has emerged as a vocal proponent for increased gun control laws. This week, after Morgan’s very public, on-air spat with radio host Alex Jones, Ben Swann, a local Fox anchor for WXIX-TV in Cincinnati, offered up a fascinating fact-check of some of the stats that the British CNN host has been using. Morgan will surely find the results unpalatable.

Swann tackled a litany of statistics, but took particular aim at one number that Morgan has repeatedly mentioned in recent days. During his exchange with Jones, the CNN host alleged that Great Britain only had [….]

The Obamas of The World ‘Don’t Want to Save Lives’:

by Becket Adams,

January 10, 2013

Not one to shy away from his support for the Second Amendment, Ted Nugent (i.e. the infamous “Motor City Madman”) during an interview on the Peter Schiff radio show Tuesday threw himself headfirst into the gun control debate.

His purpose? To argue that a loss of gun rights equals a loss of personal freedom.

“This conversation and the importance of focusing on the right to keep and bear arms really is the deciding factor in America versus the rest of the world,” Nugent said. “If the people in power — Michael Bloomberg, Nancy Pelosi, Dianne Feinstein, Eric ‘Gun-Running-Attorney-General’ Holder — are you kidding me?”

“To force American citizens into unarmed helplessness,” he added, “that’s their agenda!”

Nugent turned his attention to [….]

This is How a Secret Gun Provision Made It Into obamaKare

by Billy Hallowell,

January 9, 2013

There’s a widely-unknown provision in the Affordable Care Act (also known as Obamacare) — legislative wording that is capturing attention in the wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. Pushed by the National Rifle Association (NRA), a newly-noticed regulation that was placed deep within the bill back in 2010, among other things, bans doctors from documenting patients’ answers to questions that focus upon guns.

The Washington Post first reported on Dec. 30 about the presence of this controversial wording. Under a [….]

An Open Letter To The Elected Class Regarding Gun Control

by Bob Livingston,

Personal Liberty Digest

January 14, 2013

Dear ______________:

I realize it is customary to begin missives to elected representatives with the words Honorable Senator ______________ or Honorable Representative ______________, but I believe that title must be earned. Frankly, you (I am referring to you individually and to Congress as a whole) have not done so and, therefore, do not deserve to be addressed that way. However, the purpose of this letter is not to criticize you, but to inform you about what is happening in the country you were elected to serve.

According to a recent poll, Congress’ favorability ranks below lice, cockroaches, colonoscopies and root canals. Have you for a moment stopped to wonder why? It’s because a vast majority of Americans believe that Congress no longer represents them, but instead represents big corporations and, mostly, themselves and their cronies. The recent “fiscal cliff” deal is a perfect example. It socked a tax increase on 80 percent of American workers while doling out $76 billion in government money (which means my money) through special tax favors to large corporations, such as General Electric, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and DIAGEO, and to Hollywood and green energy companies. According to a recent column in The Washington Examiner, Senator Max Baucus’ (Fascist-Mont.) former staffers who are now lobbyists all got their clients millions of dollars in special benefits from the fiscal cliff deal. In return, Baucus received thousands of dollars in political contributions from those companies’ political action committees. Americans, myself included, believe this is standard operating procedure in Washington, D.C. And there is talk that additional tax increases on the middle class are on the way.

Some Local Sheriffs Will Fight The Gun Grab **UPDATED**

by Sam Rolley,

Personal Liberty Digest

January 14, 2013

Sheriff Danny Peyman of Jackson County, Ky., reminded Americans who are concerned about the Federal government’s continued efforts to destroy the United States Constitution that there is still a powerful and peaceful means of resistance: the county sheriff.

Poll Results: Blaze Readers On Guns And The Second Amendment

by Mike Opelka,

January 13, 2013

Last week, TheBlaze invited you to participate in an online survey about guns, gun ownership, and the current debate about limiting or changing what is allowed by the Second Amendment. Our readers delivered almost 5 million responses to the 106 questions in the survey.  Before we break down some of the significant facts from this poll, let’s remind you of the make-up of a typical Blaze reader (statistics culled from last year’s poll that generated over 3 million responses).  [….]
