17th Amendment: Keep It or Repeal It?

The United States Constitution provides:

  • Section 1: All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives.
  • Section 2 speaks to the House of Representatives; their qualifications, requirements and method of selection and replacement; methods, reasoning and distribution on matters of taxation; requirements for a census; sole power of impeachment.
  • Section 3; Paragraph #1: The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each State, chosen by the Legislature thereof, for six Years; and each Senator shall have one Vote.

The text of the 17th Amendment:

  • The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each State, elected by the people thereof, for six years; and each Senator shall have one vote. The electors in each State shall have the qualifications requisite for electors of the most numerous branch of the State legislatures.
  • When vacancies happen in the representation of any State in the Senate, the executive authority of such State shall issue writs of election to fill such vacancies: Provided, That the legislature of any State may empower the executive thereof to make temporary appointments until the people fill the vacancies by election as the legislature may direct.
  • This amendment shall not be so construed as to affect the election or term of any Senator chosen before it becomes valid as part of the Constitution.

My opinion: The time has come to repeal the Seventeenth Amendment, much like the Eighteenth Amendment; for the same reason: it is of no benefit to the people; the serf class!!

Currently, the United States Senators–two per state–are elected by popular vote, as are House members and the president, vice-president. Who does that benefit? It’s the big-moneyed folks like political lobbyists, George Soros, et al, who pour ‘tons-of-money’ into each election–buying members of the Ruling Class who then act in concert within the best interests of those who purchased that loyalty.

The repeal of the 17th Amendment would largely go unnoticed by the serf class, aside from voting on the referendum. The effect would largely affect those in Washington, D.C. and the individual state capitols. A repeal would transfer the both the funds expended and selection process closer to those citizens the RULING CLASS purports to represent. People like George Soros, et al, who have the desire and financial wherewithall to circumscribe Senatorial elections, will have far fewer “palms to grease in their efforts to thwart the intent of said national document!!

Steve Vaus

See What Happens….?!?!
The consequences of not abiding by the fascists’ “talking points” is to be stifled in your speech.  The First Amendment to the Constitution states:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Apparently, singer/songwriter Steve Vaus didn’t understand “how the game’s played!”  In 1993, Mister Vaus’ song, “We Must Take America Back” zoomed up the Billboard ‘100’ chart, eventually to #56.  At that time, the song referenced things like street crime, drugs, prayer in schools, “made in America” and federal leaders who don’t lead.
But the fascists ‘showed him!’  The “powers-that-be” had him blackballed in the record industry; so badly that he was forced to write, record and perform under another name:  Buck Howdy.   In recent years, Mister Vaus has toured extensively, performing with the likes of Billy Ray Cyrus and Kenny Loggins.

“It took me a long time to get over having the rug pulled out from under me like that, but now, I think this song’s time is finally here,” said Vaus. “I can’t believe it has been 17 years since I first recorded and released ‘We Must Take America Back.’ With updated lyrics, that speak to the issues on most Americans’ minds across this great country, I believe it will be a rallying cry for everyone organizing tea parties, signing petitions and getting organized to preserve what’s good about America.”

The updated lyrics:

The American Dream has become a nightmare,
Signs of the times are on cardboard on corners in town,
Like a cancer that’s silently spreading, there’s an unspoken fear … we’re on our way down.
We must take America back, Main Street to Wall Street, cities and states
Washington D.C., before it’s too late, there’s not long
We need leaders who lead us, not stick us and bleed us,
Then ransom our future, and our children’s – that’s wrong
We must take America back, as liberty weeps, our forefather’s spin in their graves
Pray God will bless some way out of this mess, We must take America back.
Lord knows they’ll try to silence our voices
They’ll pretend to be patriots fighting for fairness for all
They’re not even fit to hold office
What they believe doesn’t fit, with freedom at all
We must take America back, Main Street to Wall Street, cities and states
Washington D.C., before it’s too late, there’s not long
We need leaders who lead us, not stick us and bleed us,
Then ransom our future, and our children’s – that’s wrong
We must take America back, as liberty weeps, our forefather’s spin in their graves
Pray God will bless some way out of this mess, We must take America back.

BRIDGE

Fight for freedom, and the soul of the USA
Right here right now, it’s Independence Day
We must take America back, Main Street to Wall Street, cities and states
Washington D.C., before it’s too late, there’s not long
We need leaders who lead us, lift us and heed us
Who stand for what’s right, and stand up to what’s wrong
We must take America Back, now and forever, with God, in His rightful place
Then He will bless, and protect the U.S.
We must take America back.

Rochester, N.Y.: Plenty Of Idiots!
The City of Rochester recently installed three ‘red-light cameras.’
Even after a three-week warning period (10/25 thru 11/08)!!
Even after public notification of camera locations (North Street/Clifford Avenue; State/Jay streets; Broadway/Alexander Street)!!
Five HUNDRED-Eighteen of Rochester’s finest idiots were the lucky recipients of traffic tickets generated by those same cameras!!  When all the fines are paid, they will have “re-distributed the wealth” to the tune of $25,900!!
Three more intersections will have functioning cameras soon (Culver Road/East Avenue; Dewey/Ridgeway avenues; North Clinton Avenue/Andrews/Norton streets).  The city is authorized to install cameras at up to 50 intersections and estimates revenue of $3.5 million in the first year that all 50 intersections are active.  The recent data show violations are highest during the day and spike during commuting hours — 52 between 9 and 10 a.m., and 46 between 5 and 6 p.m. — and Saturday was by far the busiest day when 172 people were caught. No other day had violations in triple digits.
If I had to guess, I’d say that most of the criminals are those who’re being paid by you and I to sit on their dead asses in front of televisions we bought them, or those self-defined “indestructible” 20-somethings!!

Til Nex’Time….
